Be addicted to progress:

Be addicted to progress.

To incremental improvement.

To showing up for the process, not the outcome.

The outcome is not up to you.

You have no control over how other people feel about you.

You can only do you.

You can only focus on the effort.

The work.

Showing up when you don’t want to.

Spending hours of time reading and writing while the whole world wastes their time watching a show they’re going to forget next week.

You have to love it.

The grind.

Showing up through failure, experimenting, innovating and taking huge risks.

That’s what’s fun about life.

There’s a lot you can control, there’s a lot you can’t.

Where you’re born, the family you’re born into and the environment around you, that’s not up to you.

But the decisions you make every day and how you choose to spend your time is your choice.

If you want any type of success in this life, get ready to work.

Get ready to show up.

But it’s not just showing up.

It’s learning about the world, understanding how leverage works and taking big risks.

It’s failing for many years through every inevitable failure that will come your way, and still showing up.

It’s showing up for the work.

It’s experimenting and trying multiple things.

You will fail a lot.

That’s the point.

Nothing comes easy in this life.

But if you want something, you can get it.

Write it down, burn it into your subconscious and show up to work for many years.

The life you want is there.

You just have to be willing to deal with the failure.

Deal with the grind.

Enjoy the process, not the outcome.

Showing up and iterating is how you improve.

It’s how you progress.

Be addicted to progress.
