Celebrate the small wins:

Celebrate the small wins.

The tiny victories.

Be proud of yourself for making it here.

Today was one of those days.

Best news I’ve gotten in one day in years.

Found out I got promoted.

After almost 4 years at the same firm, they finally promoted me.

Years in the making but happy I got the recognition.

Not only that, found out I was accepted into the Mensa society.

An organization that only accepts those who score in the 98th percentile or higher on a standardized IQ test.

A wild result because I thought I didn’t make it.

Had to do 50 questions in 12 minutes and guessed about 10.

Guess someone out there was on my side.

Finished the evening with a great meal with some of my colleagues and scored 147 in bowling.

An awesome day.

One to celebrate.

One to remember.

Tomorrow I’ll forget about this.

I’ll move on to the next thing.

I’ll be worried about the next trivial issue that we all worry about.

But for today, I need to enjoy this.

I need to savour this.

I need to remind myself that not everyone gets to have this life.

Not everyone gets so lucky.

Not everyone has worked as hard as I have for the last few years.

The best part of today was this is mostly professional stuff.

No one knows how much writing I’ve done.

Finished my 700th blog post this past weekend along with over 230 book notes on my website.

Done that in 2 years all in my spare time.

I’ve worked so hard to get here and I’m only starting to get the recognition.

It’s nice but there’s so much more to come.

I have many goals but don’t forget about the journey.

Don’t forget to enjoy the small wins along the way.

Make sure you celebrate them.
