Do you know why dusk is easy to love:
Do you know why dusk is easy to love?
Sometimes it’s red, blushingly happy.
Sometimes it’s black, dark and somber.
But the sky, always accepts dusk as what it is.
Damn.
Hit me like a ton of bricks.
Memorable lines from the movie ‘Sore - my wife from the future.’
Wow.
Did not expect to stumble upon this.
But so glad I did.
It’s an Indonesian movie.
Only time I’ve ever seen one.
And wow.
Incredible.
Cross between Edge of Tomorrow and Past Lives.
Confusing.
Funny.
Emotional.
Honest.
Real.
Raw.
What a movie.
A movie about love.
And time.
And what it means to be with someone.
Forever.
Could you still show up for that person for eternity?
Man.
It hit me in the feels.
You want someone who makes your life better.
Gives you peace.
But also someone who doesn’t change you.
Who doesn’t force you to do things.
Who doesn’t control you or your decisions.
You want someone who loves you for you.
Who’s ok with you.
Who’s not forcing you to confront your demons.
But is there next to you ready to confront them with you.
It’s the story of a man.
A man who’s holding himself back.
Who’s caught up in this life he didn’t totally choose.
On behalf of someone he had control over.
But he blamed himself his whole life.
He bottled it in.
Then he let go.
He surrendered.
Surrendered to the flow of life.
Shout-out Michael Singer, awesome book.
But it was more than just happiness.
It was sadness.
And darkness.
And getting through all of it.
Life is not ups.
It’s also downs.
No one gets through this life unscathed.
Ideally you get to do it with someone next to you.
Someone who’s battling it there with you.
Marriage should be a partnership.
Not one person against the other.
But both tackling life together.
Whatever comes up.
Either way.
You want someone who’s there for everything.
Just as these two characters were.
Awesome.
So awesome.
Please do yourself a favour and watch it.
It’ll stick with you.
You’ll remember forever why dusk is easy to love.
