Be patient. Your time will come. Remember though, the only way you get there is by continuing to do great work. By continuing to keep your head down and work hard. Always be nice to people no matter who it is because you never know when that person could change your life. So take advantage of every opportunity you can to explain your story and experiences. Help people and learn from them. Explain the transition from one field to another and how hard it is, as well as how lucky you got. You have every right to use your voice to help people out. Always remember is one person takes something positive out of what you’re doing, then you’re doing a good job. Never let people destroy how you feel about the world. Remember that people are the way they are because of their life experiences and biases. If they’re angry at you about something, it’s likely not about you so don’t take it personally. Just do good work, continue to work on yourself and you’ll reap the rewards. But be patient, these things take time. They take lots of time so don’t get discouraged. Just commit to doing something and eventually you’ll get to where you want to be. Consistency, a little bit every day, that’s what you need. Don’t let it get to your head as well because even though you’ve accomplished a lot to the outside world, there’s still so much to learn. Constantly learn and keep learning, even when you think you’ve made it. You’re just at the beginning!
