Time to contribute:

Time to contribute.

I’ve been sitting on the sidelines for years.

Watching.

Waiting.

Thinking.

Learning.

Have posted a few articles that people have liked.

Started with my blog series for @Front Row Ventures on analyzing healthcare companies.

Part 1 was about scientific diligence (here)

Part 2 was IP and regulatory (here)

Part 3 was evaluating healthcare businesses it like any other business (here).

Then wrote a blog post for them on how to break into VC (here).

Wrote an article a few years back on my biotech thoughts that made people think. (The State of Biotech today - May 5, 2022)

Been on multiple podcasts sharing my story and some lessons for start-ups from an investor perspective, which you can find here, here and here.

And then this past year, posted a long-form article on analyzing clinical trials (link here).

Got a lot of positive feedback, but wasn’t consistent with posting.

I was trying to be a biotech guy, given I was in the industry since 2018.

However, for those of you who know me better, I’m much more than that.

I have a lot of interests.

A lot of passions.

And have been consistent with them for years.

Have been writing in a journal every day since 2018.

Now at 10 journals and 2600+ days.

Started a blog in 2021 (find it here) and now have over 1250 blog posts (link here).

Btw, none of it is AI and I will NEVER use AI to write. Everything you read on my blog are ideas and writing that came from me.

That’s 250 blog posts a year for 5 years.

Wrote 2 books in a summer, one’s a collection of poetry (here) and the other is a book about changing careers (here), plus have finished my 3rd manuscript and already have ideas for my 4th.

Have read and taken over 350 non-fiction books (Goodreads profile here).

Been listening to podcasts at 2x speed every day since 2012.

But it’s not just learning.

It’s applying myself in other areas.

Have run 2 marathons.

Completed an Olympic triathlon and Hyrox.

Finished an Ironman (3.8k swim, 180k bike and 42.2k run) from zero in 7 months while raising $25,000 for my cousin who passed away from cancer at 31.

I’m writing this because I’ve climbed more mountains than most people will ever even dare to try.

I’ve also been super lucky.

Got into medical school and moved to Scotland when I was 17.

Lived in Europe for almost 7 years.

Became a doctor, then was the only person in my graduating class to leave medicine.

Jumped into the venture capital world where I worked for almost 7 years across Europe and North America.

Analyzed over 1000+ companies, sat on boards, including for a company who went public in 2025, and was involved in growing a venture capital firm into one of Canada’s largest in the industry.

Travelled to 50+ countries by the time I was 21.

Mostly because my parents wanted to see the world.

And I’ve done all this after just turning 30.

I’ve been lucky.

I’ve been blessed.

But I’ve also worked hard.

I’ve shown up.

Spent hours in darkness with no one watching, trying to be a little bit better every day.

So it’s time to share.

Time to open up.

Time to contribute.

So many people have told me over the years how much they’ve appreciated my thoughts and perspective.

But I’ve been hiding mostly for the last several years.

Working.

Thinking.

Writing.

Now’s the time to contribute.

To show up.

To share what I’ve been doing.

I’ve been writing about the world for a while and a lot of what I’ve been talking about has started to come true.

My goal is to share all of that and more.

To add my thoughts.

To add my opinions.

Even if people don’t like them.

Heck, I’m sure a lot of people won’t like them.

That’s ok.

That’s not my goal.

Has and will never be my goal.

I started my blog in 2021 for 3 reasons.

To think.

To challenge.

And to inspire.

That’s it.

That’s going to be my goal this year on LinkedIn.

Contribute.

Comment.

Post.

Share my thoughts on what’s happening.

We’re entering a darker time in the world.

A Fourth Turning as per Neil Howe.

A Changing World Order as per Ray Dalio.

My goal is contribute to that and share how I’m seeing it, plus what I’ve learned along the way.

Hope you’ll enjoy what I have to say.

And even if you don’t, hope it forces you to think about the world in a new way.

If the first few weeks are any indication, should be a fun and crazy year.

Let’s go!
