Day 1425 - Aug.24.22 - Youngest off to NYC

She’s off to NYC tomorrow. The youngest in the family is going to Colombia for her masters. Incredible achievement and accomplishment. So proud of the woman she’s become. Hard to imagine we both moved home together when she was in 2nd year and snow she’s off to New York for her masters. So much has gone on in the klast few years yet so little. Hard to see the difference in time once you’ve started working but really notice it when your younger siblings are still in school. Our relationship got stronger the last few years and I’m glad she’d come to me now if she ever had something serious to talk about. It’s been awesome seeing her take care of Kona the last few years and how much she’s grown as a person. Much more confident about herself and what she wants. Let’s see if her relationship will last long distance for 2 years. Initially I was skeptical but it’s possible. We’ll see because it it does, they’re likely getting married. She’s going to have to get used to the shit and judgment not only within our family but also from the broad indian community, especially amongst family friends. All good though, she can handle it. She’s an ivy league student now so if she can do that, she can do anything. The sky’s the limit and look forward to watching her fly.
