Be a superconnector:

Be a superconnector.

A person who connects people.

People you know.

People with similar interests.

Interesting people.

Put them in touch.

Make those connections.

My goal is to be a super connector.

Someone who connects lots of people.

Who knows awesome people and puts them in touch.

You never know what comes out of it.

Throughout my time as a VC, I always tried to help.

Tried to put people in touch.

Tried to reach out to people.

Make connections.

Not asking for anything in return.

Just doing it.

Because I know it will come back.

The vivid example I remember was when I put a medtech CEO in touch with a friend of mine.

He ended up raising millions of dollars because of that intro.

Insane.

Changed his business.

All because he met a guy who introduced him to a guy who introduced him to another guy.

And that guy ended up investing in him and changing the life of the company.

What if I could do that infinitely?

Create deals out of nothing.

The best I’ve ever seen is Clarence Avant.

Watch Black Godfather.

Do it yesterday.

One of the most unsung heroes of US pop culture and history the last 40 years.

But I bet you’ve never heard of him.

He was a superconnector.

Probably the greatest superconnector.

Another great one, as horrible a person as he was, is Jeffrey Epstein.

Another superconnector.

Was literally in the halls of power and known by every major politician and businessman around the world.

That is an unparalleled network.

He did horrible things with it.

Definitely on behalf of governments so they could control people across industries.

But that is power few will ever hold.

Clarence, meanwhile, did it in entertainment, especially black entertainment.

What an incredible journey and incredible man.

Just put people in touch.

People who wanted to collaborate with others.

Was honest.

Direct.

Went to bat for people.

Fought for them.

The people in his corner.

He was loved.

Respected.

People knew he was a good dude.

Tried hard.

Did his best.

And through his introductions, look at what he created.

A legacy that will be remembered forever.

That’s my goal.

Connect people.

People all over the world.

From different industries.

Different backgrounds.

People who would have never met if not for me.

Make those connections.

Don’t ask for anything in return.

Not at the beginning.

Or forever.

And wait for them to come back to you.

Be patient.

They will.

People always remember.

When you want to genuinely help someone and put them in touch with someone, you never know where that relationship could go.

I love it.

I love being a connector.

One day I want to be known as a superconnector.

Be a superconnector.
